John M. Wright

John M. Wright was elected as Business Representative for the Evansville area effective July 13, 2013. He served as an appointed Organizer for Local 20 out of the Evansville Area from June 20, 2011 until his election to Business Representative. John graduated from Wellington High School and Ivy Tech State College.

John became a member of Sheet Metal Workers in 1999, serving his Apprenticeship from June 2001 through September 2006. He received his Certificate in Health Plan Navigation from the International Foundation.

John is currently a Trustee for Health & Welfare (since 2013), as well as the Local JATC (since 2016) and Statewide JATC. He is the Labor Co-Chair for Jobs with Justice (2015 to present), and has been a member of this organization since 2011. John serves on the HVAC Board for Vanderburgh County, and he also serves as the Principal member on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee on Air Conditioning.

John served as a Volunteer on the Organizing Committee in 2009, and was the Treasurer for the Labor Day Association (2008-2011). John has been a part of the AFL-CIO Counselor Program for the past two years.

John was born in Evansville, Indiana and attended Wellington High School and Ivy Technical Institute. He enjoys spending time with his family, and volunteering his time with Jobs with Justice and the Labor Day Association.
